Casting director Rob Kelly grew up in South London and trained at The BRIT School. He is known for discovering fresh, award-winning talent and is a passionate advocate for diversity, underrepresented artists, and LGBTQ+ voices. Rob works across film, television, and theatre.
Recent feature credits include Fing!, starring Taika Waititi, Mia Wasikowska, Blake Harrison, Penelope Wilton, and newcomer Iona Bell; Something in the Water for StudioCanal; Robin & the Hoods for Sky Cinema, starring Naomie Harris and Gwendoline Christie; and How to Date Billy Walsh for Amazon Studios, with Nick Frost, Lucy Punch, Sebastian Croft, and Charithra Chandran.
Additional film work includes This is Christmas for Sky Cinema and Epix, featuring Alfred Enoch, Kaya Scodelario, Joanna Scanlan, and Timothy Spall; Twist for Sky Cinema, starring Lena Headey, Michael Caine, and Raff Law; and Matriarch for Hulu.
He is currently casting the features Libby and Joan, from the award-winning team behind Good Luck to You, Leo Grande, and the horror feature Best Mary Wins for BlackBox Media.
Rob is also casting the new seasons of the hit Netflix series Geek Girl, following widespread acclaim for his work on Season 1.
Other notable TV credits include Curfew for Paramount+; both seasons of the BAFTA-winning Dodger for BBC One, starring Christopher Eccleston and David Threlfall; and Flowers in the Attic: The Origin for Paramount+, with Kelsey Grammer, Kate Mulgrew, Jemima Rooper, and Max Irons. Additional credits include Catherine Tate’s Hard Cell for Netflix, Gangsta Granny Strikes Again for BBC One directed by Dan Zeff and starring Sheridan Smith and David Walliams, The A List for Netflix featuring Micheal Ward, and Malory Towers for the BBC.
Rob also works extensively in theatre. His theatre credits include This Bitter Earth, directed by Billy Porter for Soho Theatre; Faygele for The Marylebone Theatre; and the original musical Stalled, which recently had a successful run at the new King’s Head Theatre.
He currently has several television series and feature films in development, alongside ongoing theatre collaborations.
